Cleveland Police Detective, Lieutenant Aidan St. Cloud is divorced, and living in a converted warehouse loft in Cleveland’s “Flats” area when he becomes embroiled in the case of a battered young woman found wandering, naked and bleeding, through a snow storm. Through the investigation, Aidan finds himself fighting off his growing feelings towards her, and his confusion over whether there really is someone causing her horrible injuries, or whether she is seriously mentally ill, and perpetrating these attacks herself.

This was a sweet love story as well as a mystery. The author put great detail in the characters they felt real. A good book
This is a wonderful story (and it's in a fave genre of mine - mystery /suspense). The male lead is an alpha with a lot of compassion balanced with needed focus. The female lead is both fragile and strong - while not appearing to be submissive, she does seem to accept certain limitations imposed upon her by him as reasonable and necessary (although a trip over his knee happened at one point, to sound this home to her which I thought showed remarkable patience on his part as he waited so long before doing so).
I downloaded this on Monday to my android phone and gasped, grimaced, laughed, cried, and smiled my way thru to the very sweet happy ending, a day later. There are a few red herrings to keep one guessing and a few sweet spots to give one a breather before the next gasp of horror. Love this book and have trouble believing it's a first effort - am eagerly awaiting the next St. Cloud mystery.
Well crafted read! Intregueing plot elements written with a few twists and turns that keeps the reader involved right to the end.
An interesting mystery story and a suspense that holds even when everything seems solved. Jamie a beautiful artist prone to mysterious accidents that endanger hers and her friends' lives; and Aidan a Police Lieutenant who decided to solve the mystery and in the process falls in love with the girl. The story is well written and the main characters likable. There's also a too smart, big German Shepherd trying to protect the heroine.
